So I'm finally able to start a few little projects...things I've been wanting to do since we moved into this house.
Just didn't have the extra time... (with being pregnant, moving and unpacking, getting ready for baby, having baby, surgery, recovery, taking care of two little ones, blah blah blah...). BUT...now I'm making time for some things I've wanted to do. And since being a stay-at-home-mommy sometimes sucks the brain cells right out of my brain...I was in desperate need to do something creative.
Lately, I've been admiring a lot of "glazed" furniture pieces...and wondering how it was done. After a little research, I decided to give it a go myself. Keep in mind this was my first time "redoing" a piece of furniture.
The piece below was my sister Aimee's very large nightstand. Her "chews-a-lot" dog, decided to give the upper left corner a taste test and completelygnawed rounded it off. That was over a year ago...it's been sitting in moms garage ever since.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago...
Oh how I wish I'd have taken a before shot...especially of the chewed corner.
Mid-process...
One coat of Kilz Spray Primer, one coat of Rustoleum Navajo White Spray Paint,
and the beginning of the glazing process.
The previously chewed corner...
Ta Da!! I think it turned out pretty great!
And here's a little sneaky-peaky at what I'm doing to the dinning room.
The hubby wasn't thrilled with me spray painting in the garage, but it was either that or freeze my butt of outside in the cold.
The upside...I was feeling a little "happy" after inhaling the spray paint fumes.
I guess that's why the instructions say to "apply in a well ventilated area". Oops.
Should have the room finished soon.
My kids, unfortunately dictate how quick I get things done.
