Poor Gram's Got a Boo-Boo...

Lilee and I have been kind-of busy the last few days.  We've been taking care of Gram (my mom)...see below...

Yep, she has broke her ankle in two places...and gonna be down-n-out for... Doc says possible till February! Oh my! Gram doesn't like to do "nothing"....so we've been trying to take good care of her...like she takes good care of all of us!  Lilee has been busy baking her favorite person a "feel better" cake, because she said it would make her Gram feel muuuuch better.  But little does she know... just being with Lilee makes EVERYTHING much better for Gram!
So.. I'm grabbing this opportunity with both hands...and my heart.  After all, when you get the chance to give back to your mamma, after all that she's done...
~shouldn't you??

An early visit from Santa...

I got to open my Christmas present early this year!

My wonderful husband...
...he knows how much I love my moms "fancy expensive" camera (as I like to call it).  And he knows how often I steal it borrow it from her.  Now, thanks to my honey, I have my own!

Mamma will definitely be kissin' Santa for this one!!

Say what????...

Well, yet another video of Lilee.  But this time, I'm giggling while typing this.
She came out of nowhere with this one...that's for sure!  I know she's always said her buddy Josiah was her "boyfriend" (as we laughed and giggled and agreed), then I started joking with Josiah's mommy how the two of them were going to get married.........but...........I didn't think Lilee was taking me seriously.  From now on, I'm keeping my lip zipped!
(*side note*...Lilee's daddy was in the background looking like someone had poured cold water on his head!  He quickly corrected her, and firmly announced that she would be living with us for the rest of her life.)
Uggghhhh...what will this child come up with next??

"A Lilee Moment" ~ One I Will Never Forget...

My prayer for Lilee has been the same since she was 1 day old...
"Jesus, help her to find You at an early age. Help her to find Your hand, hold on tight, and never let go...so that you can walk beside her and guide her every step."
Never, could I have ever imagined that at 3 1/2 years old, she would have absorbed and comprehended the truth of Jesus.  What I am about to describe is what I like to call "A Lilee Moment".  One that I will never forget.
At the time, Brian had to be out of town A LOT. During the times when he’s away, I am admittedly uneasy. My thoughts run away with me and fear sets in. I always let Lilee sleep in “mommy and daddy’s bed”…if anything, to help ease some of my own anxiety. On one particular night, she wanted to sleep in her own bed and there was no changing her mind. I found myself pleading with her to “pleeeeease sleep with mommy”. I know, how silly…but I just couldn’t help it. I just wanted my baby girl to be close…one less thing to worry about. She looked at me with those big blue eyes and said words I will never forget…  “Mommy, don’t be scared…Jesus will protect us."  I stood there...breathless.
That night, she reminded me of what it means to trust. To have faith like a child. She has taught me more in
3 ½ years than I will ever be able to teach her.  This video perfectly represents who Lilee really is. Her mind and heart go hand in hand. She is truly a gift. Thank You Father...thank You so much.  I am excited to see what you have planned for her life.

Jingle, Jingle, Jingle...

Ok...I can't sleep...again.  Sooooo.......................................
How early is too early?

Is it weird that I'm already hearing Jingle Bells playing in my head? I just can't help it. Funny how I still get all warm and fuzzy inside when Christmas starts approaching. It's like I suddenly want to break out the hot chocolate and watch re-runs of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and The Christmas Story (the two best Christmas movies of all time...which my husband can literally recite word-for-word. And I'm not exaggerating.) Geesh...we've not even made it through Thanksgiving and I'm already considering putting up the Christmas tree!! Considering the fact that we put up a "family" tree in the downstairs family room, adorned with pretty much anything that the kids would like to decorate with...a "do not touch" tree in the living room, with zero kid decorations...and of course Hunter and Lilee have to have their own trees in their rooms. So that makes FOUR trees all together!
...I have now justified the importance of starting early in this house!
